Let’s send Bailey

Hi! It is a joy to be able to share my heart with you. My name is Bailey Augustine. Last year, I was invited on our church’s missions trip to Mozambique, Africa. I realized pretty quickly when we got there that I loved the place and the people. So far from what is familiar to me,but the beauty of how Jesus, His Spirit, and His church connected us. No matter the country or the context or the color of our skin, we all have one thing that connects us entirely. On the last days of our trip our team traveled from Mozambique to South Africa. There was something about South Africa and some of the racial tension we experienced that I just couldn’t stop thinking or praying about. I felt a sense of responsibility. When we returned home to Texas, I realized that God had changed everything about how I saw ministry. I never truly stopped thinking or praying about South Africa.

I started serving at our newest church location when I met the Enslins where I got to connect with AJ and Vicky. Immediately, I realized we shared a similar love for God, the church, and South Africa! Afterwards, I ended up meeting 3 other girls who went to our church who were also (you guessed it!)… South African. They became some of my very best friends. I started seriously praying about South Africa during the summer and had hoped that maybe someday our church would take a mission trip there. It was that day when I saw the Enslins at church and, without second thought, felt like it was time to ask for their thoughts on visiting soon. With enthusiasm, they introduced me to Rebuild Africa, where they and their team are loving and serving the South African community.

I just finished my Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling because I am motivated by Jesus’ heart to love people and meet their needs. Through partnering with Rebuild Africa, I can’t wait to be able to tell the stories of the lives of the people they have the honor of impacting every day.
